About Us

About Us
- Hello There. .. . Welcome to our Chapter of TRI.

We are located generally North of Houston, TX near the Sam Houston National Forest Reserve. We enjoy the quiet country style of living and the convenience of most urban facilities. We are a fringe community.

Our chapter is now entering it's 3rd year and we continue to accumulate new members and great friends.

We ride 3 wheeled vehicles (aka TRIKES) and some of our significant others ride motorcycles of the 2 wheeled variety.

We do have and enjoy an occasional "IMPROMPTU" ride now and then. Somebody is always going someplace.

BIG BEND, TX - National Park and Rio Grande River
This is one of the State's most popular tours for motorcyclists and tourists. If you plan to take this ride, may we suggest you base your camp(motel) in Alpine, TX. Several are available for most any budget. Then, you have two options on how to take the tour. One is by going south and directly into the park. At last report, entry fee is $4 per vehicle that is good for one week. Tour the park and then when coming out of the park. . . turn left and go east to Presidio, TX,. . then north to Marfa, Tx. . and then right to Alpine. Or, the other way is to go from Alpine, TX to Marfa, TX and the reverse of the directions described above.
TEXAS RIDE -
This is a self-guided ride for our members to ride and gather photographs of their riding the cities of Texas. Proof of this is provided by each member producing photographs of being in front of a sign of the city. That can be the city limits sign or the "Entering Town" sign or the Post Office or Town Water Tower.

The "RIDE" is not limited to a single ride day or weekend. Each rider has 12 months to complete the ride. The THEME of this ride is to pick and visit on their bike/trike the town that the FIRST LETTER of the town name is a letter of the state name of TEXAS. Except for the letter "X" in this state, there is no community or city or town that has a letter "X" as the first letter in the town name. . So, as a substitute, a town with the first lettor of "J" may be substituted for the need of an "X". Tejas is also acceptable substitute for TEXAS.

  • Step 1. Contact TRI-TX4 and "Sign-Up". This will start your clock for the 12 month maximum ride period.
  • Step 2. Select your towns/cities with the FIRST LETTER of the name to coincide with a letter in the name TEJAS.
  • Step 3. Go "RIDE" . . Ride your machine to the cities on your list and take pictures in front of or beside the town name.
  • Step 4. Also, keep track of your mileage. There is a special bonus for the rider(s) that travel the longest distance to visit all your cities.
  • Step 5. Once you have completed the ride and visited all your cities and collected all you miles. . . turn the evidence in to TRI-RX4 to get your pin & Certificate for the ride.

This RIDE was mentioned to TRI and received the following note/comment...:
. . . I am going to give my input in this. I don't believe that there should be a time limit for anyone to acquire the pin. As for using the "J" in place of the "X", I think it is fine as long as everyone is in agreement prior to starting this ride. Remember, the idea is to get out and ride and enjoy each others company. We are not going to make this so rigid that it is a huge burden on some people. Just have fun with this project.
